Be aware you're only getting the 3D printed pieces in his "kits" -- Body tubes and all other associated material you need to supply from your junque-box/parts-bin or otherwise order as needed. So end result is that it's still going to cost what a kit costs....

Understood. They are "builder's kits" as some would say. But that's still a good price for the 3D bits, and the design work that goes into it. I assume there are some basic instructions included, and some building knowledge required as well.
