For those old enough to remember...

Page 1 of 2Next

I used to get up at 5:00 in the morning to watch this series on the tele. I recently learned that the thrusters were provided by Jetex motors too. I used to have a Jetex in my youth. It just doesn't get much better than this.

I'm not old enough yet, but that is an impressive amount of modeling. Looks a lot like a certain Team America movie.

I know you printed the red rocket, but they all beg to be made in flying versions. Cool.

Team America was a plagarization of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's Supermarionation.

There was a guy working on a TB2 flyable model. I saw it on Facebook. If only FB had a decent search mechanism. 🙁

There is a flyable TB3 model. It was sold at a METRA launch by the guy who'd created the kit. Sadly, I wasn't present the day he was selling them at METRA.

Clearly we are discussing Thunderbirds... As a huge Anderson geek, I've pretty much watched all their stuff (including Terrahawks); Captain Scarlet remains a favorite, but their live-action forays in the 1970's (UFO & Space:1999) remain my favorites. Barry Gray's music is iconic and memorable. And I've got a few ideas to buld a flyable Fireball XL5.

I know the guy who makes the kit for the TB3 -- it's basically the 3D printed parts only and you then need to supply the tubes to build the rest, but you end up with a good looking rocket. He lives in nothern NJ, so he does make it to METRA from time to time. He's currently working on a TWA Moonliner kit, which I really want him to complete (it's not currently stable without clear fins), because then I'm ordering that and the TB3....  I can try and get his contact info if you want to order directly, but he goes by the handle "BigMacDaddy" on The Rocketry Forum.

I loved UFO.  Sadly, it was too short lived.

What's his name? I 3D printed a TB3 but it's not flyable. I'd love to get the launch able TB3 kit.

I've emailed him via the rocketry forum and should have some contact info for you shortly.

If you have facebook... he posts as Radical Rocketry:

Thanks!

I may contact him and buy the TB3 kit from him.

As for the BOMARC, I have a 3-inch North Coast Rocketry BOMARC. It's even larger than the 2.6-inch Madcow BOMARC.

If I get an X-15, it'll probably be the Apogee kit.

Those are some pretty cool looking rockets he's producing. Prices seem reasonable too, compared to some I've seen. May have to think about a couple of them.
