Scheduled Launch July 2026
Quote from Admin on July 1, 2026, 2:43 pmHappy 4th of July CENJARS!
It's time again for our scheduled monthly launch. Sunday, July 5th, the day after our 250th celebration of our independence from King George and old Blighty. Let's see those red, white and blue rockets flying high.
Take note, I, your Poobah, will not be attending this launch. My wife booked a cruise on a Bahama Barge for our 40th Wedding Anniversary. I'd rather be at the launch but then, I wouldn't likely be seeing my 41st Wedding Anniversary! 😛 Please enjoy the launch without me, and take and share photos and videos.
We will be experiencing 100+ºF temps over the 4th of July. Be careful in that heat! Forecasts for Sunday show that this heat will abate and temps should be in the upper-80ºFs or low-90ºFs. It is summer, so a thunderstorm is possible but present forecasts are calling for those in the early evening Sunday. Plenty of sun too! Bring sunshade, sunscreen and drinks to stay hydrated. Winds will be low and from the south, so rockets shouldn't drift too far.
For the benefit of both those that were and those that were not at last month's launch, we had a very ugly confrontation with and from the owner of the bordering property on the corner just south of the baseball field. A rocket (Neil's) landed on his property. Neil and Charlie drove around to the front of the house to ask for permission to recover the rocket at the rear of the property. This owner hates our activities and refused to return the rocket. My understanding is that his son told him to return it and he did. My guess is that that sent him reeling. Soon thereafter, he walked out onto the field, and he was extremely belligerent and vocal about our activities. Chris Oliver, thank you, tried his best to douse his flames. Please, if you are launching a rocket at this launch, be sure that you have launch rods angled away from his property. We all know that rockets can have a mind of their own but let's do everything we can to mitigate the return of the giant hemorrhoid, Mr. Nasty Neighbor.
We will be instituting some RSO check-in procedures due the last month's unneighborly conflagration. Too many rockets are being flown that, at other launches sites, would very likely not be RSOd for launch. We've been fairly lax about how and what gets launch at CENJARS launches. Without some due diligence with respect to what is being launched, we may lose the launch location we currently have been using for pushing up to 20 years.
FYI, I am finally cleared and rescheduled for my hernia repair operation. It will be on the 21st of July which is exactly one year since my table saw mishap and surgery. This should give me around 10 days for recovery before the August launch. Start thinking about that one now as it's our CENJARS picnic launch!
Assuming I don't fall off the barge or get lost out in the Bermuda Triangle, I'll see you all next launch!

Quote from Eric Becher on July 1, 2026, 3:49 pmI will also be running a little USA 250 contest.
Prize is at least 1 rocket, an Estes out of production patriotic kit. Maybe a couple of other things.
No special rocket needed to enter. In fact, no rocket needed at all.😲
See me (Secretary Eric) at my table for the rules and to participate.
