Rocket Found at BARC
Quote from cepeders on September 29, 2025, 6:04 am@vaxman Hi Brian - I got your email that you have the rocket I lost at the BARC launch. Very happy someone found it! For some reason any email I send back to you gets blocked. I do plan to be at the CENJARS launch this weekend so would have happy to get the rocket from you then.

I'm uncertain as to who found your rocket but Jeremy asked if you also flew at CENJARS. I said that you did and he suggested I take the rocket because I'd be the first to see you and hand it off.
I don't know if you were around for my Formula-98 launch on the K454 "skidmark". The parachute was deployed at 500ft but it didn't open until feet above the ground. The attachment hole for the nomex blanket tore at the quick-link and the blanket reefed the parachute by twisting around the shroud lines. Thankfully, it came loose in time. The Formula-98 landed further back than I'd anticipated due to its abbreviate flight under parachute. It landed safely in the soybeans but required my GPS to located it in the waist-high soy.
When flying on large fields like BARC's and especially at BARC's because of the soybeans, a tracker is a must have. 😉 My Eggfinder guided me right to it even thought I couldn't see it until I was about 10feet away. I saw the 6ft bright construction-zone orange parachute; the rest was buried in the soy.
