Estes E12 Engine availability
For anyone who hasn't heard yet, Estes has recalled 2 lots of E12 engines. They have also made E12's unavailable on their website. A comment was made by a speaker at the ARC finals last weekend that they have pulled the E12's from the market. We don't know if that is a permanent move, or just until they can replace their stock with more reliable ones. So if you fly with E12's (all delays), and you can find the ones NOT in the recall, you might want to stock up a little. I just picked up a few myself.
The affected lot numbers in the recall are:
- 2K1 25336 00
- 2I3 25303 00
These numbers are printed on the side of the engines. If you have these, you may get a refund from Estes through their website - after soaking them in water to destroy them (they want pictures).
