August launch picnic signup form
Attention CENJARS,
Sunday, August 2nd is our August launch. This launch has also been a picnic launch. We ask that you bring a food or beverage items for all to share. There is a signup form on the website for you to see who is or may be bringing specific items. You can signup with just your name or something that will identify you, and then list your food or beverage or snack or dessert or whatever. This way we can hope to avoid having 600 buckets of KFC chicken! 😛
I, your Poobah, will bring homemade BBQ ribs and coleslaw. I'm a traditionalist, so BBQ ribs must always have a good coleslaw to accompany them. In the past, we've have fried chicken, pulled pork, hot dogs, sandwiches, corn, salads, bake beans — don't worry, we don't have open flames at our rocket launches — fruit, desserts, etc. Anything but liver and onions!

I'll be there, and yes, there will be a contest. We'll keep it simple. Closest to the object out in the field. What object? You'll have to come and see, but it will be "party related". Prize - one of the rockets recently donated by Mike. I'm not sure which one. He donated a bunch of nice OOP kits, and a couple of other good ones still in production. Maybe there will be more than one winner?
Now we just have to hope for good weather. I've been seeing improvements - now less than 20% chance of a rain shower. Temps are supposed to be about 80, and partly cloudy. That's pretty darn good! Even the wind is showing an acceptable 12mph from the SSE. The only bad news - we might be hauling up to the back corner of the field, so bring your carts and lightweight tents!
The annual picnic has been getting better and better each year. Come on out and enjoy the afternoon! And come hungry!
