Scout Launch at Dorbrook Park
Quote from Admin on April 24, 2025, 7:52 amCub Scout pack 22 is requesting that CENJARS assist with their launch at Dorbrook Park on the 3rd of May.
If this day is rained out, I've invited the Pack to join our launch on the 4th.
If you are available to help out on the 3rd, please let me know. CENJARS has assisted the Scouts with their launch the past several years. Dorbrook is a nice area and the launches there have been fun too.

FYI for those who haven't gone: I've attended their launches in the past. One of the best Scout launches. They usually have great leaders/parents who already know the basics and keep the kids organized. We just have to setup the launch gear and help them prep and launch. Often they handle the prep too. So it's not hard, and they get a lot of flights in. We sometimes bring one or two of our own interesting rockets (for smaller fields) to show them too. Spools and such. Brian once had a helicopter recovery one that was a hit.
So if anyone is free, I recommend it as a nice couple of hours outside.

Great. I think this is your first time? We'll be on the south side of Rt.537 (soccer field) and just west of Hockhochson Rd.

Quote from Admin on May 2, 2025, 6:43 amThe forecast for tomorrow has improved greatly, so I will assume the Scout launch is go.
I asked their PoC to let me know their intentions to go or not go as early as possible. I know Joe said he'd join us and help but I'd certainly not like to see him drive the distance if there will be no launch.
