Section Leaders,
To those of you holding high power launches and are responsible for ensuring a Notice to Airman (NOTAM) gets filed for your events, I was wondering how many of you are aware that there is an online means for submitting them?
I found out about the system from a LEIDOS operator while calling in a NOTAM back around 2008 so have been using it for about 15 years. I assumed it was something that other clubs were also being advised of when they called in so I never thought anything about it but seeing a recent conversation on the Tripoli Prefect's forum (I'm a Tripoli Prefect as well), it seems that there aren't many clubs that know about the online system, much less using it.It's the FAA's eNOTAM II (ENII) system and can be found here: https://notams.aim.faa.gov/en2/You have to create an account in order to use the system but once set up, you can actually enter NOTAM's for ALL your events at the beginning of the flying season. They will be placed into a queue and then automatically activate within 7 days of the specific event. When activated, a copy is emailed to you for your records. If there are any issues with a particular NOTAM, a specialist will email you to let you know. If you need reschedule or even cancel an event, you can easily login and update them as needed, even after it's been activated. You can even save favorites so you don't have to recreate a NOTAM each time you want to add events. It's been a very handy tool and has saved me a lot of time over the years. If anyone has any questions about it, feel free to reach out to me directly unless your response can be considered beneficial to the entire group. Thanks,
