May 2025 Launch Report

After another canceled scheduled launch, the skies finally dried up and the temperatures were perfect for a make-up May launch. The wind speed, however, was higher that many would have liked.

The launch was sparsely attended by CENJARS members but there was a large contingent of spectators for such a small launch. Some several of us met at Kane the date of the scheduled May launch. They came out and brought friends. Several of my, Poobah's, HAM radio friends also came to watch.

Charlie brought his granddaughter Sonnia to the launch. Not only did she launch several rockets but she also manned the launch control. Chris Oliver came out for the launch with his dog but he didn't bring anything to fly. His dog seemed to enjoy the rockets. Dan, JoAnn, Jeff Myers, Michael McClellan, Matt, Linden and myself put a total of 34 rockets in the air. Eric was absent, working with there Red Cross at the Air Show at McGuire be he managed to fly a few rockets-by-proxy.

Engine totals:

2 – 1/2A Engines
7 – A Engines
14 – B Engines
8 – C Engines
2 – D Engines
0 – E Engines
0 – F Engines
1 – G Engines
Total of 340 engines an 34 flights.

Yes, I, your Poobah, flew the G — a G77 "Redline".

As an added special treat for this launch, Jeff Myers setup his solar telescope and invited members and spectators to view the sun. Solar prominences were bountiful and made for some very interesting viewing.

I will try to get to some photos later today or tomorrow.
