March 2025 Scheduled Launch Scrubbed

Quote from Admin on March 1, 2025, 4:56 pmAttention CENJARS fliers,
Tomorrow's scheduled launch for the month of March is being scrubbed. While we would normally endure the low temperatures, the wind forecast for tomorrow has been on the steady incline. As the temperatures are now dropping here, the winds are also increasing. The ability to fly tomorrow with ~15+MPH winds and significantly higher gusts means that it is best that we postpone this launch.
Perhaps, next weekend? I will request the complex for our launches for next weekend and the weekend thereafter. I realize many of the ARC teams are looking to get in some more flights before their deadline. Rest assured, I will do whatever is possible to get ARC teams at least one more launch. I do believe getting a launch in this March is good for the ARC teams as nobody can predict whether to not the weather will hold for our April launch.

(Might not answer your question, but fun for spectators nonetheless.)

Quote from Bestjetsfan on March 7, 2025, 8:59 pmHas the march launch been rescheduled for this coming Sunday, March 9? We have not been able to make the last few launches and we cannot make the April launch, but this coming Sunday is a good possibility if it has been rescheduled.

Quote from Eric Becher on March 7, 2025, 9:05 pmAt the moment, we're hoping to fly, but the weather forecast turned rather negative in the last day. I'm seeing winds at 13mph, building to 17mph through the afternoon, but gusts well over 20 most of that time. (20mph is the NAR safety limit, but on our small field, even a little less than that is very challenging.) But we really don't want to cancel since the ARC kids need to get flights in. Stay tuned. Maybe the call will be made tomorrow. Either way, it should be posted here first.

Quote from Bestjetsfan on March 7, 2025, 10:13 pmThanks. Last week, I hiked to the top of a mountain in Iceland. I then had to hike down with a 45 mile an hour wind, blowing snow and hail into my face, which was enough of that for a lifetime. I will thus rely on your expertise in making the decision.
