March 2025 Scheduled launch and contest

Quote from Eric Becher on February 18, 2025, 1:51 pmHey CENJARS members!
With the approach of St. Patrick’s Day we thought we would observe the occasion at the next launch (March 2nd) with a contest.
The contest is simple – “find” the Leprechaun’s pot of gold. That is to say, closest rocket to the “Pot of Gold” wins the treasure.
Requirements and Rules:
- Be a member of CENJARS. You may join or renew in advance HERE, or at the field (see Secretary Eric at the field).
- Fly a green rocket. Or at least mostly green. Please sign up at the LCO table when you put the rocket on the pad.
- Attempts may be made throughout the day, but I would like to determine the winner at about 3:30 if all interested parties have flown, so get your flights in early.
- One attempt per person.
- Closest to the Pot (actually the stake next to the pot) wins whatever is in the pot. (Pot will be placed out in the field in front of the pads.) Distance to be measured from the nose cone tip to the stake. So what’s in the Pot you ask? Gold! Rocket gold that is. We will have rocket related items in the pot. Could be anything and everything. Kits, Engines, Parachutes, Wadding, and much, much more!
Speaking of what’s in the pot – We have a few items already, but it’s a big pot! Let’s try to fill it up some more. ****If anyone has any donations, please bring it and put it into the pot.**** The more the better! Doesn’t have to be anything big or expensive – every coin helps. A pack of engines. A small kit of any kind. That spare chute you bought but never use. Building tools or supplies. Rocketry related swag. Just please make it unused, complete, and in good condition. (The flea market is another day.)
So if you don't have one already, start building that lucky green rocket! (I'll bet that before you have finished reading this, Charlie is figuring out how to make a pot fly!)
And if St. Patrick’s Day isn’t your thing, it is also 2 days before Fat Tuesday, so fly something for Mardi Gras!! Won’t help you enter the above contest, but it could be fun anyway.
