July Scheduled Launch

Attention CENJARS,

Tomorrow, 6 July, is the scheduled monthly launch. I apologize for not getting out an announcement yesterday but we wound up without power for several hours. Today, I was flying with BARC. A pleasant day there and everything was cut — grass, hay, etc. — leaving a vary unobstructed field in every direction. The skies were clear and the temps warm but not uncomfortably warm.

For our launch tomorrow, the temps are forecast to be in the upper 80ºFs. The dew point should be relatively low too; however, be sure you bring water or other beverages to keep yourself hydrated tomorrow. The winds will be from the south and southwest tomorrow with a peak wind speed of 10MPH as the launch closes out. We will assess the winds when we get to the complex but I suspect that we will want to setup on the upper soccer/baseball field. Bring a cart or wagon to help you haul your rocket stuffs up to that field. If you have a popup tent or beach umbrellas, you will want them to get some shade.

There were discussion about launching Saturn Vs to celebrate the July 1969 launch and moon landing. If you have a Saturn V or any NASA rocket of the period run-up to the moon landing, consider flying it.

See you tomorrow.
