CENJARS March launch report

CENJARS March 2017 Launch Report

After a couple of months of strong winds and cold temps, we were desperate for launching some rockets.  It was still a bit nippy and the winds were a little strong, but they did die down as the day went on.

Despite the winds, most of the flights avoided the lower power motors.  We were setup in the northwest corner of the field so we had the best recovery area.

5 – A motors
1 – B motors
11 – C motors
5 – D motors
0 – E motors
1 – F motor
0 – G motors

Sadly, we did lose one rocket as it drifted along the edge of the field.  How you can lose a yellow rocket with a red streamer, I don’t know.  I have to admit, it was small and it drifted a long way.  Once the winds died a bit, some brave rocketeers started launching 2 stagers and D motors.  The 2 stage bat rocket had a hard landing for the booster, but all parts were recovered and it will fly again.  Talk about brave, Brian decided to launch his Majestic on an F-25.  Oh and it was majestic!

Anyone want to try some egg lofting for the April launch?  The club has an egg lofting rocket that can be borrowed.  Theme for April – Easter and Spring!
