CENJARS February 2019 launch report

CENJARS February 2019 Launch Report

Ah, Spring! Well, it almost felt like it. We had some warm temps for February and some light winds. That brought out the big rockets and the daring rocketeers. We had a number of cluster and multi-stage rockets at this launch.

Jeff went wild with stages flying a Trifecta, a Mini Comanche, and a Comanche 3. He also flew a 3-motor cluster just for fun.

As expected with the light winds, Brian launched his MDRM on a G. Unfortunately, the deployment didn’t go as planned and it came down hard with a broken fin.

We also had a “My rocket is bigger than your rocket” battle between Peter and Charlie. Peter flew a Mean Machine and Charlie went with the Richter Recker. Who won? Everyone that was in attendance of course.

Charlie did have a CATO on his Decaffeinator. There were some really nice pics and video. It was an old motor and he has vowed to toss all his old motors. He was also heard saying “I will re-build”!

There was a total of 52 flights and 68 motors burned. Here are the motor totals:

18 – A motors
18 – B motors
21 – C motors
13 – D motors
2 – E motors
3 – F motor
1 – G motors

Our next launch is scheduled for March 3rd. Let’s celebrate the coming of Spring for real!

We have the AMA Expo February 22-24th. The 50th Anniversary of the Moon landing is July 20th.
