CENJARS June 2019 launch report

CENJARS June Launch Report

We celebrated Father’s Day and had a beautiful blue sky for our launches on June 9th. Our regularly scheduled launch was delayed until June 9th due to weather. Some winds meant for some long recovery walks and at least one lost rocket in the trees. To combat the winds, most kept their launches to lower powered motors and streamers. We had 38 launches on 39 motors, with launch totals as follows:

9 – A motors
6 – B motors
18 – C motors
3 – D motors
1 – E motors
2 – F motors
0 – G motor

Additionally, final preparations are being made for our July 20th 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Apollo 11 Landing. Flyers/Posters are available so if you can post to area locations, with community groups, and in the news media we would be happy to get you copies. Tom Timko, NASA Solar System Ambassador, will be giving a presentation during the event as he will discuss and field questions about the Apollo moon landing and the future of space exploration. We will be holding launch contests with Apollo 11 prizes, and offering free make-and-take rocket builds.

We are still in need of folding tables and chairs, so please let us know if you can lend some for the day.

Additionally we are still working to secure a food truck or two. If anyone has contact with one, please let us know as we would like to arrange to have one present during the lunch hours.

Please plan to spend the day with us hosting this event and sharing rocketry with the community!

Upcoming Events:
July 20, 2019 (Rain-date July 21st) – CENJARS 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Apollo 11 Landing

And remember to join us on July 7th for our next club launch day!
